The Contact Company was recently awarded The Workplace Wellbeing Charter, cementing its commitment to health and wellbeing across its employee group.
The purpose of the charter is to seamlessly embed workplace wellbeing in to every aspect of an organisation.
The Contact Company received either ‘Commitment’ or ‘Achievement’ against the set standards. This was a direct result of a number of new initiatives across the business, such as: providing mental health training for line managers; introducing mental health awareness training for employees, resulting in ‘Mental Health Champions’; offering mental health awareness sessions to all employees; promoting the Employee Assistance Programme provided via one of The Contact Company employees’ benefits, Medicash; providing training sessions to help employees stop smoking, become more active inside and outside the workplace and choose healthier eating options; and introducing health and wellbeing notice boards across both sites. Across the next few months, The Contact Company will also be investing to provide all managers with training on HSE stress management standards, as well as holding monthly ‘Blood Pressure Check’ mornings and afternoons at each site for employees.
In addition, the HR department are currently in the process of implementing a health and wellbeing section on the company’s intranet, for employees to keep up to date with top tips and all things wellbeing.

We are focussing on a number of important areas of wellbeing; such as healthy eating, smoking, physical activity and mental health. Working in partnership with our recruitment associates, too, is incredibly important to ensure a strong focus on the mental health and wellbeing of our employee group.”
